The Heir's Return! is an hilarious burlesque in which the repetitive dialogue, mindless patriotism and fatuous plot of a typical Victorian dramatic sketch are mercilessly guyed. Intended for inclusion in an Old Time Music Hall evening the piece commences with the late arrival of the not-too distinguished actor Mr D'Arcy Hilliard and his slightly inebriated wife.
